Summary:
Albemarle Corporation is currently seeking an Analytical Chemist.
This position is located in Magnolia, AR.
Job/Position
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to production units and Technology Resources
Troubleshoot, calibrate and maintain equipment.
Maintain required levels of measurement accuracy and precision
Document and analyze results of work -- effectively communicate with production units, technical support and Technology Resources
Train Laboratory Technicians
Perform method improvement and development
Identify appropriate analytical equipment and develop project scope
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
Experienced in plant process and lab equipment troubleshooting, method development, instrument calibration and maintenance.
Demonstrated capability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks
Solid understanding of analytical techniques and instrument theory
Good oral and written communication skills
Qualifications:
M.S. in Chemistry
Experienced in LIMS/SAP, NMR, GC and computer data acquisition, HPLC, FTIR, IC, and metals analysis
Knowledge of Bromine and Bromine chemistry
Good interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership and problem solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a team environment approach.
Technical proficiency.
Safety
Capable to effectively function in a team environment
Completion of agreed upon commitments
Accurate and timely analysis
Customer oriented toward both internal and external customers
3-5 years experience troubleshooting and resolving analytical equipment issues.
Prior supervisory or leadership role experience
Educational
